For consideration by CERD, the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) and the Justice for Peace Foundation (JPF) submitted an alternative report in which attention is paid to obstacles to justice that arise for certain groups of women in Thailand in the context of:
- immigration laws and regulations affecting migrants from Burma/Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos;
- the operation of plural justice systems in camps for displaced persons from Burma/Myanmar; and
- the operation of formal and informal plural justice systems for Malayu Muslims in the Southern Border Provinces. This submission was drawn from the forthcoming report of the ICJ and JFP on Women’s Access to Justice in Thailand: Identifying the Obstacles and Need for Change.
