The International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) is part of a coalition of 17 civil society organizations and academic institutions, convened by GENDRO, calling for a gender-responsive international instrument for an effective and equitable prevention, preparedness and response to future pandemics.
Yesterday, the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) hosted a live Facebook discussion with ICJ Commissioner, Justice Qinisile Mabuza (Eswatini), to discuss access to abortion care in Eswatini. The conversation focused on Swazi women’s reproductive health rights and the path to legalizing abortion in the country.
Today, before the UN Human Rights Council, the ICJ denounced the serious deterioration of human rights, especially of women and girls, and of the rule of law in Afghanistan, during the interactive dialogue on the report by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The ICJ, today, drew the Council’s attention to the rising gross human rights violations occurring in Afghanistan and called on Member States of the Council to set up an effective accountability and monitoring mechanism.
