A parliamentary committee investigated allegations of corruption and mismanagement in the judiciary. A number of judges and prosecutors were denounced and the evidence collected was sent to the Public Prosecutor for the initiation of criminal investigations.
The Committee’s report constituted a major input to the ongoing debate over a new law reforming the judiciary, which will focus on external control, modifications in the structure of the court system and a better definition of administrative and functional misconduct.
