The ICJ’s Centre for the Independence of Judges and Lawyers today concluded in its final report on the criminal trial of 27 Turkish lawyers that this trial was political in nature.
Nevertheless, the ICJ is satisfied that the Court dismissed the charge against the lawyers. The lawyers were charged with professional misconduct and identified as “terrorist lawyers” for having represented political prisoners.
