ICJ and other organizations urge states to continue public debates on the human rights situation in Sudan

Ahead of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council’s 50th session (HRC50) between 13 June and 8 July 2022, the International Commission of Jurists and 52 other non-governmental organizations have sent a letter to the HRC calling for the body to ensure that continued attention is paid to Sudan’s human rights situation.

The signatories to the letter also urge states to support the adoption of a resolution to ensure that there are ongoing public debates and regular updates on the situation in the country in interactive dialogues at the Council’s 52nd and 53rd regular sessions.
