The trial of the President of the Diyarbakir (Turkey) Bar Association and 3 other lawyers who were charged with “professional misconduct” for having represented evicted villagers did not conform to international standards.

The Centre for the Independence of Judges and Lawyers of the ICJ concluded in its report released today that the trial of the President of the Diyarbakir (Turkey) Bar Association and 3 other lawyers who were charged with “professional misconduct” for having represented evicted villagers was politically motivated and did not conform to international standards
