Concluding Observations, CEDAW/C/CZE/CO/5, 10 November 2010: Czech Republic

7. The Committee further welcomes the adoption and implementation, since the consideration of the last report, of several laws aimed at eliminating discrimination and violence against women, including:

  1. The Act on Equal Treatment and Legal Means of Protection against Discrimination and on the Amendment to Certain Laws (“Anti-discrimination Act”, 2009), which prohibits discrimination on grounds of, inter alia, sex and sexual orientation in areas such as access to goods and services, education, employment, social protection and housing, and assigns the role of national equality body to the Ombudsman.
