Launch of the new ICJ wesite

15 Aug 2003 | News

Information and knowledge is power. The ICJ launched its new website designed to act as the hub of the ICJ network.

We now number forty-two national sections and fifty-five affiliated organizations. Many of us are doing pioneering and exciting legal work. This needs to be shared. Through this space we can draw on each other to collectively make a difference.
So send us news of your activities, samples of your legal material, research and ideas for new projects. And tell us of your achievements – when you succeeded in making a difference for the respect of human rights. We have much to learn from each other. This space is dedicated to that exchange.

Highlights of the new website already available include: up to date information on the ICJ Secretariat in Geneva; listings of all national sections and affiliated organizations around the world; details of the many ways in which to become involved in the work of the ICJ network worldwide; and an expanding legal resources database featuring press releases, legal documents and network news. As you will see, some sections of the site are still under construction, these will be completed shortly.

In the coming weeks and months a number of new services will also be made available. These will include an extensive Log-in section which will be your access point for: updating your national section or affiliated organizations contact information; accessing a step-by-step guide to creating your national sections’ website, under the ICJ banner, e.g. http//:www.kenya.icj.org; accessing your ICJ internet mail address service, e.g. name@kenya.icj.org; and for capacity building tools for institutional development and advice and guidelines on international and national fundraising. The French and Spanish editions of the site will also be launched shortly.

If you have any suggestions of services you’d like to see the website provide please don’t hesitate to contact us with your recommendations.

We look forward to hearing from you.
