Kazakhstan: Authorities must ensure accountability for killings and respect the rights of those arrested following protests
As mass arrests are made following protests and violent clashes in Kazakhstan, it is essential that those arrested or detained have access to a lawyer, to judicial review of detention and to a fair trial, the ICJ said today.

La CIJ lanza hoy una serie de videos sobre los desafíos que en materia de justicia enfrentan las víctimas de desapariciones forzadas y ejecuciones extrajudiciales en Perú, Colombia y Guatemala; los videos incluyen recomendaciones para cada Estado sobre las medidas urgentes a tomar para luchar contra la impunidad. Estos videos se realizaron en el marco del proyecto “Promoviendo justicia para ejecuciones extrajudiciales y desapariciones forzadas en Colombia, Guatemala y Perú”, que cuenta con el apoyo de la Unión Europea.
The ICJ releases videos on access to justice in cases of enforced disappearences and extrajudicial killings in Latin America
The ICJ launches today a series of videos on access to justice challenges in cases of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Peru, Colombia and Guatemala; the videos also include recommendations to each State on urgent measures to take to fight against impunity for these crimes. The videos were produced as part of the project “Promoting justice for extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances in Colombia, Guatemala and Peru”, supported by the European Union.
Latin America: new podcast “Forced Absences” available in Spanish
This year, the ICJ launched its podcast series “Forced Absences” about cases of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Latin America, produced by La No Ficción Agencia, and available on the main internet audio platforms.
