Denmark suggests it would use diplomatic assurances against torture as a basis for the return of foreign nationals to countries where they face a risk of torture, and that it might promote the use of such assurances at an EU level.The ICJ and other human rights groups wrote to the Danish Minister for Justice to express concerns about this suggestion.

This note addresses the European Commission’s proposal for an amendment to the Framework Decision on Combating Terrorism of 2002, and in particular the provisions which would require EU Member States to criminalise public provocation to commit a terrorist offence.
