Document Type: Seminar and Conference Report

The ICJ has been promoting a series of seminars in Asia, Africa and Latin America on the provision of legal services in rural areas, where the great majority of the population live.

The purpose is to discuss how the rural poor can be provided with the basic legal services which more affluent people enjoy.

These seminars are a means to persuade practicing lawyers, law teachers and law students to inform grass-roots development organisations on the way in which law can be used as a resource to help the rural poor.
