4. The committee welcomes the adoption, since the entry into force of the convention for the state party, of several legislative measures aimed at eliminating discrimination against women, including:

  1. law on gender equality (2007) which prohibits discrimination based on sex and provides for measures to promote equal opportunities for women and men in all spheres of public life;
  2. law on the prohibition of discrimination (2010) which defines and prohibits direct and indirect discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and other grounds, provides for remedies, and strengthens the protection role of the protector of human rights and freedoms (ombudsman) in relation to discrimination.
