On 11 March, eight religious teachers from the south of Thailand accused of being members of the separatist group Beisan Revolusi Nasional Malayu Pattani were charged with treason, separatism and murder at the Bangkok Criminal Court. They pleaded not guilty. If convicted, the defendants could face death penalty.
