“This ruling is a powerful statement that the Barrier as constructed is a violation of international law,” said Nicholas Howen, Secretary-General of the ICJ, welcoming the International Court of Justice’s Advisory Opinion on Israel’s Separation Barrier.
“The Israeli Supreme Court has taken a significant first step in recognizing the disproportionate and acute hardship the Separation Barrier causes for the population in the Occupied Territories,” said Nicholas Howen, ICJ Secretary General.
The ICJ and other rights groups are deeply concerned about the increase of Israeli restrictions against human rights and humanitarian workers.
