Pressure on the US Government to close the detention centre at Guantánamo Bay is increasing. Criticism has been recently expressed by former US Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter. Several human rights organizations such as Amnesty International and the Center for Constitutional Rights launched a campaign to close the detention centre.
