The UN system of human rights protection has a range of instruments which are binding for States that are members of the UN or which are parties to specific instruments. Ahead of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council’s 50th session (HRC50) between 13 June and 8 July 2022, the International Commission of Jurists and 52 other non-governmental organizations have sent a letter to the HRC calling for the body to ensure that continued attention is paid to Sudan’s human rights situation.
