Addendum to report – Sri Lanka: the investigation and inquest into the killing of 17 aid workers in Muttur in August 2006
In October 2006, the ICJ appointed Mr Michael Birnbaum QC as its observer of the inquest into the deaths of 17 aid workers in Muttur, Sri Lanka in the first week of August 2006.
Nepal: ICJ submits recommendations to interim Legislature-Parliament on disappearance bill
The ICJ today submitted a letter to the Speaker of the interim Legislature-Parliament of Nepal setting out 23 recommendations related to the bill.
The bill provides for the amendment of the Civil Code to include a chapter on disappearance, abduction and hostage taking.
