The law on criminal procedure has the purpose of establishing the rules that shall be respected and strictly implemented in order to determine by law the existence of a criminal offence.
The law consists of seven Chapters and 238 Articles. The Chapters deal with the following:
- General Provisions
- Judicial Police
- Provincial Public Prosecutor Department
- The Investigating Judge
- Provincial or Municipal Tribunals
- The Appeals Court
- The Supreme Court
