The ICJ, in collaboration with the Centre for Studies in Human Rights of Colombo University, concluded a seminar on State reporting to the United Nations treaty bodies in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 15 December 1999.
Today, the ICJ announced that former Argentinean Senator Hipolito Solari Yrigoyen, who is a Member of the ICJ since 1993, had been elected as a Member of the UN Human Rights Committee.
Between 23-25 October 1995, the ICJ, in conjunction with the Commission’s triennial meeting, convened in Bangalore, India, a conference on economic, social and cultural rights and the role of lawyers.
At the first meeting of the ICJ, one of the participants, Walter Linse, was kidnapped and never seen again.
