The Centre for the Independence of Judges and Lawyers of the ICJ requested the Russian Government to allow observers to monitor the trial of Mr. Trepashkin, a lawyer whose arrest was based on planted evidence.
Report on appellate hearings on lawyer Muhamed Mugraby
The ICJ’s Centre for the Independence of Judges and Lawyers concluded in its report today that the appellate hearings on Lebanese human rights lawyer, Muhamad Mugraby, were not in accordance with international standards.
The ICJ’s Centre for the Independence of Judges and Lawyers monitored the proceedings which took place on 15 October 2003 at the 12th Appellate Panel of the Civil Court of Beirut.

The ICJ concluded in its report today that the appellate hearings on Lebanese human rights lawyer, Muhamad Mugraby, were not in accordance with international standards.
